Your Bicycle

27 years later, I find myself once again discovering the joy of biking. I only had a bike until I was 15 and then we moved and the bike couldn't go and then I started driving and I had always been a runner and a downhill skiier, so my needs for movement and freedom were met. Fast forward to age 41. After major knee surgery and no more running and skiing allowed, I missed being outside. An elliptical machine or a stationary bike just isn't the same. So I found my way to your store. My husband bought a bike from you as have many of our friends, so I said I would go but I was resistant and pretty adamant about the fact that I would not buy one. I was scared to ride. I know they say you can't forget, but I was pretty sure I had. And because of my knee, I am nervous about falling. However, Bill, gently guided me to a bike that he was sure I would find friendly for me. He asked me to just consider taking it out for a test drive in this very small and safe area. He made adjustments to the seat, spoke words of encouragement, and gave me tips as I pushed off and pedaled. I did not fall off and I loved the feeling of movement- something I have not had in 10 months. I was sold. I am very short and was not easy to fit and Bill did an outstanding job of helping me get the right bike, getting it adjusted so I could try it out, and setting me up with all my gear. The tricks I knew 27 years ago are still coming back to me and while I don't anticipate riding "no handed," I love this newly discovered freedom. So thank you Bicycle Garage Indy for giving me a way to move again-
